*laughs* Yes! Historically that's gone well as a first step.
An armed invasion would present some logistical challenges. I'd imagine that current EU hosts of US bases would attempt to deny the US use of them for the purpose ... but probably only the UK would be in a position to enforce that, and we probably wouldn't try. Come to think of it, they could probably just move a few carrier groups in to the Adriatic and just tell Slovenia (and perhaps Italy) to STFU if they have a problem with it.
Well they'd need to start with getting enough Republican support, which they haven't and are unlikely to, for the obvious reasons. I think it's safe to rule it out entirely for the duration of the 111th Congress. Arnie's not getting any younger, although he'd be in a better position to shrug off age/health worries than John wossissname* was. But I agree it's an absurdly remote possibility. Though theoretically possible, and strange turnarounds in events do happen.
(* I can't believe that McCain's name slipped from my mind there for a moment ... that's politics, as they say.)
All anyone has to do is point to Peru as an excellent example of why you don't let people who's allegiances are to foreign countries become your presidents...
That said, I do think the rule as it stands is totally jingoistic and should be removed (well, amended to be technically correct). Maybe something like 35 years of citizenship should be the requirement (though I realize that rule wouldn't quite work either).

*Edited as it didn't quite say what I meant...
