Updated: this plays fine for me, but it's weird and speeded up for [livejournal.com profile] spikeylady - does it work for you?

I'm afraid you've just convinced me that Boris will win. If this is the best news that Stop-Boris people have had recently, the news is going to get much worse on 1 May.

(BTW, don't suppose you know what Brian Paddick's got against pedicabs do you? It seems a surreal thing for a LibDem to take against.)

I think [livejournal.com profile] ciphergoth and I both came away from this thinking Ken was excellent, as well as that Boris was awful.

I'm sure you did - but my guess is that you both went in to it already thinking along those lines. If you go in to it thinking that Boris is Ok, I think it'll have seemed a lot more like Boris is perfectly reasonable and Paxo was just being his usual self.

I don't think Paxo handled it terribly well.

The point is that Boris's plan to rebuild Routemasters to conform to the DDA is unworkable, 'cos the buses just aren't the right size or shape. Asking him how much it'll cost is a roundabout way of pointing that out, but just endlessly repeating the question... is getting a bit old. And doesn't get the essential point across.

I do like Ken. But I also value someone who is so well versed on their policies that they can debate impressively about them under serious fire, and Ken was the only one who managed that last night, I felt.

I agree on that one. I think he's possibly going for the black cab vote, but I'm honestly not sure where it came from.

Are there that many cabbies then? Surely only a few tens of thousands, tops. Oh! *penny drops* If you win the cabbies round to your campaign, it's not impossible that the odd one or two might choose to share that belief with an occasional passenger. A few tens of thousands of extra canvassers is an entirely different prospect!
