Google is one of the wonders of the world. It is a true advance in the state of human management of our knowledge.

When random nutters at parties start to talk to you about the mysteries of the Bible Code, you know they haven't even Googled.

http://www.google.com/search?q=%22bible+code%22

Because two of the first three hits are thorough debunkings.

Perhaps they've Alta Vista'd instead. Searching for 'bible codes' on www.altavista.co.uk, the first two results are from people who believe in it:

'Underneath the plain text of the Hebrew Tanakh (Old Testament) there is an intricate pattern of hidden codes that are revealed by counting equidistant letter sequences. Instead of reading every character in the normal way, you read every two characters, or every fifty characters, or any interval you might choose. Surprisingly, this reveals a large amount of meaningful text.'

Which is exactly why Google rules but Altavista sucks...
