Was great to see lots of lovely people at BU last night, and to get trounced at that dice game. It would be interesting to play a variant in which each mistake gains you a die and you're out when you get a sixth. Very good to see
ajva, of whom I don't see nearly enough.
Don't really have time for a full roll call, sorry!
I thought when I got a camera phone that it would be useful for taking covert photos on the street and the Tube, but all my experimentation so far has failed to produce a decent photo. To get even acceptable quality you have to get close up, aim carefully, and hold the camera steady, all of which makes it very obvious you're taking a photo...
Update: While the pack says "perudo", the game seems to be more commonly known online as Dudo.

Interestingly, there is an advanced rule which I have sometimes played, where any player can call out "calza" after someone has made a call, to mean: "I think there are *exactly* that number of Xs on the table". If they're right, they get to reclaim one dead die from the bag. (I don't think you can do it during the palafico rounds, though - need to check up the rules.) Maybe we should play that rule next time. :o)
