Just to say I will be going to Finsternis tonight, maybe see you there?

What I'll be wearing depends on whether the dry cleaners get my velvet coat ready in time (Update: yes!)

In news from other LJs on my friends list:

*the witch thing is definately true- i've seen medieval manuscripts with witches' brooms pointing to the back.
*the black rose are crap. none of their clothing is made to fit normal human beings. i ordered something from their website and when it arrived it a) didn't fit and b) was broken. i got a refund though, but wouldn't buy from them again. the stuff they sell from other companies is okay, though.

Please tell me what you did to get a refund out of them. Every detail you can remember, e.g. names of who you spoke to or dealt with, what was said and so on. As that's my journal that's linked, I have a profound personal interest in this question ...

i wrote a pissed off letter to Steve (can't remember last name, it was a couple of years back now). they didn't respond, so i wrote another one, threatening legal action (bogus, but it worked). it took them a while, but they eventually gave me a refund (like 2-3 months later). i think they were embarrassed, more than anything- i hadn't even worn the trousers i ordered and they were falling apart! i hope you manage to get a refund out of them. i've heard other dodgy things about folk not getting refunds, and that they hire cheap, foreign labour, little old indian ladies to make their goods for them on a low budget. :(
they obviously know their stuff is crap if they're not wanting to give out refunds..

Threats of legal action are entirely appropriate if you have a sufficient record of trader intransigence - see http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/ . It's beautiful.

I wrote the article [livejournal.com profile] ciphergoth pointed to and I'd be interested in references to manuscripts other than the French one I found, especially if they support my case! I had to write the piece on the basis of what I could find in a hurry, without access to a university library.
