Tonight I shall go to the pub. See you there? [livejournal.com profile] gothtart's birthday yesterday IIRC, and Finn's birthday today, both call for celebration.

Now that I've been cited by Rivest, I may of course have to charge a fee for people to touch me. (Just noticed that David Wagner is a co-author on that paper too. Double cool!)

I wonder what pub will be The Pub once the Holyrood Tavern closes?

The Tav isn't closing, it's changing owner. The new owner claims to want to keep it the same, and apparently wants little to do with the running of the place. However, only time will tell; the guy who bought the Cauldron wanted to "keep it the same" too...

The problem is that his 'Holyrood Tavern' may not be your 'Holyrood Tavern', and any little tweak he makes to improve his version could totally ruin someone elses'.

Good point. One of the nice things about the Tav is that it's lots of different things to lots of different people. I like the fact that it's a goth pub, a local pub, a student pub, and so on, all at the same time. It's great to see so many different groups of people happily drinking at the same place; nowhere else can really claim to have the same sort of mix of punters.
