I think there are at least two kinds of cryptic communication: the kind that lets someone explain their feelings without having to give details they shouldn't or aren't comfortable with, and the kind that lets someone set other people up to fail to get it and then blame them for it afterwards. I think this post of yours is in the former category (and so are duranorak's, for that matter.)
