Exercise

I haven't done any exercise since I came back from Belgium in February. I really need to; I can feel my body going out of shape. I used to be following this exercise programme:

http://www.flwd.com/5bx/main/

and I was doing it pretty much daily, and got up to the start of Chart 2. But it was doing my knees and ankles in.

I need something to replace the "running on the spot and jumping" exercise. It must be something I can do from my bedroom, or I'll never get around to it. Ideally it would be something I didn't need equipment for, but I'll buy equipment if need be so long as it's not too bulky. I'll do the "running and jumping" exercise when I'm travelling.

Any ideas? ta!

The aerobics class I haven't been to for the last few months provides alternatives for people with bad knees/backs or just worn out.

For running on the spot, substitute marching, lifting your knees as high as possible and pumping your arms.
For jumping jacks, substitute stepping out from one leg to the other with your legs wide apart, stretching up and over to the other side with your arms, if that makes any sense.
These are supposed to have the same end result but will take a bit longer.

(I am not a physio, doctor, or any other person qualified to make such suggestions, etc).
