I AM 46% GEEK.

Hey, I demand more geek points!

1) Do you have more than 4 terminals open, right now?
No, I ruthlessly close unused terminals so I can keep track of what the hell's going on.

2) 2 or more 'root'?
That goes double for root terminals.

3) Do you have Cisco Hardware in your bedroom or living room?
Just installed two hubs before doing this, but they're ultra-cheap £20 10BASE-T hubs.

4) Girlfriend/Wife/Boyfriend/Husband?
3 girlfriends, 1 boyfriend.

5) Does Ween kick ass, or what?
I don't think I know what Ween sound like.

6) Have you read Lord of the Rings more than once?
No, just the once.

7) Smell your clothes before you decide what to wear?
I used to, but now I can actually manage keeping a supply of clean clothes with the help of the occasional service wash.

8) Do you sleep on a couch or futon?
Does an IKEA sofabed count?

9) Drink much?
Not loads, but some.

10) Have you every said the following phrase while watching War Games...
"8 inch floppies r0x3r"?
No.

11) 1s +h3r3 at least one word of l337 sp33k in 3v3ry email you send?
Absolutely not!

12) c4n u 7yp3 f4573r 1n l337?
Absolutely not!

13) Have you ever tried to port software to an unsupported OS?
Well, an unsupported Unix variant at least...

14) Did it work?
Yes.

15) Have you written scripts and set-up cron's to basically do your job?
Ha! I'm glad I don't have a job in which this would be possible.

16) Still a virgin?
Uh, no.

17) Have you cried yourself to sleep because of that?
Not even when I was.

18) Do you have the Holy Grail basically memorized?
Not really. Hitch-Hiker's Guide, now...

19) Have you gone more than 3 days without a shower?
Three days isn't *that* long. Americans have excessive standards of hygene.

20) Do you own a domain?
Several.

21) Own more than 3 computers?
Yes.

22) Have you never physically seen at least 2 of them?
Nope, but I'm root on two machines I've never seen.

23) Do you even know what I am talking about, you lamer.
Yes.

24) Do people call you and ask, "So I was thinking about installing linux this weekend, busy?"
All the time. It's my sacred duty.

25) Do you frequent cons?
Does BiCon count?

26) Personally know at least 2 web-cam girls?
No, but I know two women who do on-line porn.

27) Have actually met (in-person) a web-cam girl you think you know?
I once downloaded naked pictures of someone before meeting them and sleeping with them, does that count?

28) Could Spider-man take Wolverine?
I don't think so. IIRC, Spider-man's not actually all that hard.

29) Have you discussed this with friends?
No.

30) Worked for a failed dotcom?
I answered "yes" to this before remembering that DataCash still hasn't gone bust.

In summary, 000100010000110000111011100001.

I AM 20% GEEK.

And I have written macro scripts to do some parts of my job. Of course, no-one here knows that and some of them marvel at my ability to do data-entry without printing out the spreadsheet they're on, but if I showed them how the trick was done I'd be thrown out of the magic circle.

The truth is out...

I'm more curious about your "gothness" score, and what you think of the questions on that test. (Same URL, just replace 'geek' with 'goth'.)

I AM 35% GOTH.

Goth by night, normal by day. Deep in my heart I know I am evil, but not on the company's time. I do need to eat.

My Mum understood my dog-collar perfectly well without explanation, thank you very much.

According to Google, "Sam Rosenthanal is the person behind Black Tape for a Blue Girl and the Projekt label which includes artists such as Love Spirals Downwards, Lycia, and Thanatos." (http://www.ram.org/music/articles/rosenthalinterview.html )

*snort* I find an eyeliner pencil last me longer than a week - because I don't use it. I was picked on as a kid, worn a dress and my parents do call me by me real name. I've dated someone of the same sex, and don't think that matters.

And somehow I'm 30% Goth! What! Make Baby Simon take this test!

Yes indeed, and [livejournal.com profile] savage_goth and I know him and his charming partner, Lisa. Hmm, I should get more of my NYC photos online, I don't have any of Lisa up atm.

I'm tempted to do the tests, but I'm trying to give up online tests like those.

Hehehe..

Don't worry your geek crudentials are secure....

Hheheh

i am sure the reason they give u such crap results is so we on LJ can sit and bitch for hours and hours about "I am SO geekier/gothier/...inserts word of choice.../ than X Y Z"

I wonder whether it's random - I got 36% geek, which is mad when you consider I put 'no' to all the computer-type questions, know no webcams, have read LotR only once (two weeks ago) and have never worked for a dotcom...

Not that I'm denying geekiness, just not that *sort* of geekiness...

And 46% goth.

I don't think this test is very meaningful. I don't think it's random though, as I was aware as I was doing it that I was answering "no" to almost everything. I still think I'm a geek though. Look at the latest version of my site - the preview "window" can be moved and goes transparent! Ha!

These are Very Silly Tests Indeed... crawling with false assumptions and gaily tapdancing over transatlantic cultural differences (I'm prepared to bet, frex, that drinking loses you points).
Here's my scores:
I AM 50% GEEK. I AM 46% GOTH. I AM 42% PUNK.
50% geek 46% goth 42% punk
I probably work in computers, or a history deptartment at a college. I never really fit in with the "normal" crowd. But I have friends, and this is a good thing.
Take the GEEK Test at Fuali.com!
Oh My Goth! You Goth, Girl. There is a good chance I am bi. Freakiness pumps through my viens, but I can still laugh at myself.
Take the GOTH Test at Fuali.com!
The intelligent punk. Tuff and Smart. I may be able to maintain a train of thought long enough... What the fuck was I talking about?
Take the PUNK/POSER Test at Fuali.com!

Anyone who knows me will note immediately that these scores are insanely high.

On the other hand, have you seen the points you can get just by submitting a blank form (26% Geek, 32% Goth, 29% Punk)?
