I would like more people to use DW more often.

I know that not everyone has left LJ.

G+? People use it?

I wish more people used Dreamwidth, but meantime I'm happy to use it as a staging ground for LJ. And they both have pseudonyms, support long-form blogging well, have threaded comments, and allow variable privacy.

G+ was a great idea spoiled by two things (for me):
1) I can't automatically crosspost. And I'm not about to start manually doing so, because that's extra effort to support something with very few users (comparatively).
2) They pissed off a lot of people with (a) making it mandatory and (b) the naming thing, which means it has a much lower number of users than it would otherwise have.

I prefer DW to LJ (better code base, have more trust in the people running it -- also I did some volunteer dev work around when it was first released so I feel emotionally attached :) ).

I think I only know two people who use G+, and P as far as I know only uses it for work purposes.

I experience DW and LJ as part of the same thing, really: I crosspost everything between the two, and read both consistently. They are quieter than when I joined (which wasn't until 2008) but I still have stuff from real humans to read every day, and I like writing here as well as reading.

I get frustrated when people say they miss LJ as though it no longer exists. It exists! Some of us are still posting! Anyone could come back and post at any time and they would have readers! Until recently I assumed that most people still read here and just don't post, but I think that was over-optimistic. I think some people read and don't post, and some have drifted away entirely.

I don't use Google Plus at all - I have it enabled for my work account purely so D and I can use the Location bit that they moved into G+, but I don't read it. I sort of forget it exists most of the time.

I have a G+ account. Because it's integrated fully with my android phone, I don't use it much if at all, as I don't want the potential security risks and similar. I liked the idea when they launched, but because of the stupidly insane real names clampdown which was far more stupid than even Facebook ever did, it chased off too many people I'd want to pay attention to, etc.

DW is my little corner of the web, it's a bit clunky and hasn't got as many bells and whistles, but it's far better than anywhere else.

Livejournal: evil.
DW: No-one uses it.
G+: evil, no-one uses it.

I think the un-option is clear.

I've been on LJ consistently, never quite got to grips with DW. G+ is a shower of shit that is like FB in thatI have to be careful what on my phone wants to link to it.

Over the last week, LJ has been failing to load pages most of the time, hence looking at DW for the first time in months.

A few months back, more people I knew were putting diary type stuff on FL than anywhere else, but I think most of them are now using FB etc. instead.
