Mornington Crescent
May. 29th, 2001 05:34 pmI can't believe "sluts" is still sustaining the creaking old Mornington Crescent joke. How come "All Your Base" rightly becomes uncool within about three days of the SWF file coming online, yet this tedious old hoax lumbers on for literally decades?
I was brought up on Radio 4 by my Dad, so I've known it was a hoax for longer than I've been online, but I'm constantly amazed that anyone still thinks it's worth the effort to sustain it. Sometimes people even try and argue against you when you reveal it's a joke, pointing to webpages which, strangely enough, don't carry a copy of the rules.
I think I'll use my high Google trust to get a web page entitled "There are no rules to Mornington Crescent" high in the rankings for the query "rules to Mornington Crescent". That should help put a stop to this dull routine.
