Every year I feel this slight sense of disappointment that, on the last day of work before Christmas, we're not all going to be bringing in board games and mucking about all day.

Unfair, isn't it?

Mind you, my last day is Monday, which coincides neatly with the work Christmas party, and therefore going to a restaurant and mucking about all day.

In my old work we used to do this. Well, wine, and cheese, and cake, and generally mucking about all afternoon, which is much the same really.

You are, of course, quite correct about the games.

'owever, my last day of work is xmas eve, but as a special treat i get to go home early (assuming the lawyers fuck off in time) at 9pm (of course in order to earn this treat i 'ave to get into work three hours earlier, thus meaning that the previous day i only get 4 hours in bed).
tis the season to be etc etc etc...

I think when I have a company it will actually be required- it's amazing how much video game people still need to learn from board games... :)

Our IT department run a dvd of Deal or No Deal, for real stakes. I have heard of a deparment elsewhere that have an all-day ping pong tournament in their meeting rooms.

Sounds like the kind of thing a small company could be talked into, given a bit of work at it during November/December.

Yes! I was secretly really disappointed that we just had normal lessons on my last day of college. We did get taken out for a drink afterwards by our tutor though. Swings and roundabouts. (I've added you, hope you don't mind.)
