I have sorted out many of the random piles of paper hidden in various parts of the room into some useful categories, and found some that I needed. I've been to see my accountant to sort out my tax, paid my taxes for the period Apr-Jun, worked out what I'll have to pay for Nov-Mar and Jul-Sep, and signed the form for the tax office. I've found the receipts I needed, done the sums, and sent off expenses claims not only for my most recent trip to Berlin but two trips that I never dealt with from nearly a year ago. I've calculated how much money I have left over, paid off my credit cards, and transferred some of the remainder into my ISA. I have sorted out my flights for my holiday in France, and mailed the relevant people to tell them what they are. I've sent various useful BiCon mails, and fixed my digital fax setup to receive an important fax from the venue. I've found the 'phone number for my dentist. I've done my daily exercises diligently, and progressed to Rung 1C. I've tidied my room, including the piles of paper hiding around my computer cupboard, emptied my bins and carried the bin-bag to the trolley bins across the road. I've hoovered. I've done my share of the washing up for a while, listening to my "Learn German" CDs, and cleaned the kitchen surfaces too. I've changed my sheets, and washed them along with some clothes, and put them away. I've washed and conditioned my hair. I've been shopping in a far-distant supermarket and carried much food in my rucksack, and put it away too. I've faced up to the To-Do list on my Palm, and prioritised the items remaining.
Now I need to write that goddamned report for my Boss that he quite reasonably wants, but that I've been hiding from and putting off like nothing else.

Date: 2001-09-08 10:15 am (UTC)Really just wanted to say that you look nice, yay. :)
And you live in Scotland! I've wanted to live in Glasgow for a while. Either there or somewhere in England. Any place where there's nice accents.

Date: 2001-09-08 03:39 pm (UTC)I think if I lived in Alabama, I'd want to live in Scotland too. Or England. Or possibly France or Sweden or Indonesia or Zimbabwe or Afghanistan or anywhere that wasn't Alabama :-) But maybe it isn't really the way I imagine it...
Glasgow isn't really very nice. Edinburgh is much better.

Date: 2001-09-08 03:48 pm (UTC)Alabama is ok. No matter how many people say it sucks (there's a MobileSucks website, Mobile is where I live) it's actually pretty ok.
Yeah. My grandmother told me that where you live is much nicer than Glasgow.

Date: 2001-09-08 04:13 pm (UTC)Well first of all I need to make one. I look at your life style of travelling around and practicly having the finance of being able to be comfortable. Ive had some good news. I might actually get some were with my art work I'm really exited about it.
Went to see my Dad he thinks I'm in a mess. It hurts to hear it. I'am getting sorted. And my Dad just cannot under stand my out look on life.
What's the point in being alive if your not having fun?
What's the point?
Date: 2001-09-09 03:30 am (UTC)1. Have fun - whether this is going clubbing or doing high level physics, or both (In Kitty's case), depends on what you find fun
2. Sort stuff out so that you can havbe fun later - i.e. make sure you have some money and somewhere to live and look after your health as much as seems necessary.
3. Sort out stuff so other people can have fun - cos fun is no fun on your own.
That's my bit of completely gratuit9ous advice for the day, anyway...

Date: 2001-09-09 08:41 am (UTC)I remember really, really enjoying doing the washing up and ironing shirts... when I was supposed to be doing exam revision.
I tend to let clutter and paperwork pile up until they reach a critical point, and then deal with it all in one go.
I still have to do my 2000 UK taxes. The forms say I have to pay them by (mumble) date or two months from when they send me a demand, whichever is the later, so I'm taking them at their word since they haven't sent me a demand... (And I've twice written to them to correct the address they had on file.)
