I had lots and lots of fun at BiCon - many thanks to the organisers! Some interesting stories to tell. If I try and list everyone who made my BiCon better here it will be a long list, so I'll just include here the people I spent a substantial amount of time with and whose LJ handles I remember. That's a shout out to [livejournal.com profile] narnee, [livejournal.com profile] thekumquat, [livejournal.com profile] skibbley, [livejournal.com profile] daneel_olivaw, [livejournal.com profile] kerrykat, [livejournal.com profile] cujosmurf, [livejournal.com profile] neilhudson, [livejournal.com profile] bondagewoodelf, [livejournal.com profile] kinkykarleen, [livejournal.com profile] conflux, [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona, [livejournal.com profile] just_becky, [livejournal.com profile] maneatingtigger, [livejournal.com profile] softfruit, [livejournal.com profile] memevector, [livejournal.com profile] thehalibutkid, [livejournal.com profile] olethros, [livejournal.com profile] hieroglyphe, [livejournal.com profile] alexilian, my fab flatmates [livejournal.com profile] xxxlibris, [livejournal.com profile] webcowgirl, [livejournal.com profile] adjectivemarcus, and of course my wonderful partners [livejournal.com profile] lilithmagna, [livejournal.com profile] spikeylady, and [livejournal.com profile] ergotia!

If I try to name all of you who I spoke to briefly and would like to have spoken to for longer this really will get too long. And I shouldn't have started, because of the inevitable people I've left off, but I'll just go back and change it and hope no-one notices...

Now, should I tell the story of
  • having a drunken arsehole try to feel me up while I was in drag, and bodily throwing them out of the flat with my bare hands, or
  • being reported to the desk for harrassment for telling a long-standing bi inactivist not to be so rude ... last year!

Harassment annoys me even more in places where I expect more knowledge and respect. Some people may remember me holding up a large "CLUE" for those who needed it after BiCon 2000 in Manchester after a couple of good friends were assaulted.

Are you satisfied with your response or would you have liked more support from others and the BiCon organisers?

With the second story, I know both of you and I hope this can be worked out. Share whatever you feel you want to of course, but I think it might be more effective to get some sort of problem solving going with the person involved - most likely through trusted third parties. This could be private or public but I'd rather not see two people I like having a go at each other through their friends.
I've only heard one side of it so far and know that people can report the same conversation in radically different ways and indeed may have heard it in radically different ways at the time.

The resolution I agreed with the organisers was that we should avoid each other for the rest of the Con. This couldn't be better from my point of view - why would I do anything to change it?
