theoretical sweet spot

In other news, we have all finally recovered from the plague, I have had a VERY VERY BAD "plinky-plonk" slide guitar C&W song ("Misty") played by the musically eclectic MD at work stuck in my head for OVER A FUCKING WEEK, and [livejournal.com profile] imomus's journal is causing me to miss Berlin.

Blasphemy! 'Misty'is a wonderful jazz-swing-blues ditty performed by Diana Krall, Dinah Washington, Blossom Dearie & Nina Simone (and me!) amongst others. It is beautiful & rather haunting.

Whoever it was that decided to do a C&W cover should be taken out and shot.

Do you have a copy of the original? It might save me from this hell...

Hopefully I'll be able to get *that* version stuck in my head now...

I think a C&W version of Misty would be way cool :)

Sympathy - have had a swing-jazz-Jamie-Cullenesque version of "Love (That Crazy Love!) Will Tear Us Apart" wedged in my brain since the weekend...

brr. get thee to a JoyDivision fansite immediately.

(is it the one from 24hourpartypeople? in which case you have *my* symps:

scene is basically Tony Wilson begging for delay of repossesion of hacienda. Repo agent/lovely Peter Kay as impresario chappy shows TW his 'latest band', a chirpy soul trio:
"It's your old joy division song with a soul slant"
TW looks pained.)
