I've spent most of the day hacking TrustFlow. I have a completely different algorithm, and most of it is now in C. The new version of TrustFlow is more informative, slightly fairer, and about 100 times faster.

Supposing it gets a lot of eyeballs, the way the last one did (70,000 last I looked). What political thing should I use it to publicise? Bear in mind that it will be seen by LJ users all over the world, so it has to be something of international interest.

Unfortunately it probably doesn't make much difference.

This writer is worth considering though: http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com

*smile* Cool, as I was quite bemused to see the change that friending but one person made in my results!

Goodness, something political for the whole world? Things buzzing in my brain right now are such as the problems in overfishing, and a general malaise about whether or not globalization is a good thing. (Mayhap too many NPR articles about Scranton, PA after the RCA plant picked up and moved to Mexico. And it's not as though it's even helping the Mexicans all that much, either.)

Neither of which quite works as a short slogan.

Maybe a link to one of your favorite charities?

A banner saying "Created by a Bi-Sexual Goth Slut Geek" and a random link to relevant sites, perhaps. Raise some conciousness and all that...

Forget the politics, make sure your PayPal tip-jar is there and get your bandwidth costs offset.

There *are* no bandwidth costs.

The server is maintained on a 1Mb line without bandwidth costs.

The upcoming EU copyright directive to own your soul?
Well, opposition thereto, that is. cf: http://httpd.apache.org

So many to choose from, but Bush's re-instatement of the Mexico City Rule, and the subsequent withdrawal of cash from all third-world international medical organisations that won't agree not to mention any form of birth control, would be one client.

Or their refusal to join the ICC, the Kyoto protocols, etc, etc...

How about ...

The Society to Preserve the Pint, the Peck, and the Pound? I got into an argument with some fool teenager this week (running a fruit stand at the farmers market) who thought that a "pint" was a metric unit of measure and it made me think about British merchants being penalized for not using ... hemi demi semi kilograms, or whatever it is you use to measure baskets of raspberries.

Um, I say stick a link to PayPal up there to fund the teeny servers you say you're running this thing on. Or to, um, preserve the habitat of the wild ponies of Exeter.

I'm all in favour of metrication. I don't have an ounce of sympathy for the people who want to keep Imperial measures, and I won't give them an inch - we've taught our kids metric measures in school, and it's time to go the last mile.

It's been awhile since I've seen anything, is the project dead?

My fault, I can't read dates :) Never mind, I'll watch and be patient for the new version.
