Try my new trust metric!

I have implemented my new trust metric, and applied it (fairly crudely) to LiveJournal friends lists as an experiment. The result is a tool that tells you who is "closest" to your friends list who isn't actually on it, like "popwithfriends" but more sophisticated.
Who is closest to your friends list?
Let me know how plausible the results seem to you.
Update: Shit, I've broken the machine it was running on. Back later when I've made it check the load average before running the metric... Update: Back again now, with a rate limiter to keep the load average reasonable. Gosh, hadn't expected such popularity!

Date: 2003-08-02 06:33 pm (UTC)Very interesting. I've corrected some ommissions in my friends list as well.
And of course the comments from folks saying things somewhat to the effect of "It should know when I'm not speaking to someone" are hilarious.

And for my results, I know of most of the folsk on my results. There is no one on the list I actively dislike, but they are folks who I just never added, because I didn't know them well enough or didn't like their artwork, or have a serious political opposition to their views/lifestyle, and saw no reason to add them to aincrease my bloodpressure, or think less of them at social gatherings.
It looks like it sorts by the most common names found on your friend's friends lists, that aren't on yours. But I have yet to read the explanation.
Interesting to say the least.
