Anyone fancy driving my stuff to London?
May. 10th, 2003 02:46 pmWould anyone over 23 like a free trip from Edinburgh to London, somewhere to crash for the weekend, something like paid into the Slimelight plus drinks and other benefits, in return for driving my stuff to London in a Transit van and driving the van back?
I'm not taking any furniture down South, so I don't think it makes sense to hire a real removals firm to move all that distance, it would cost the Earth. I'd rather hire a Transit van from Arnold Clark, pile all my stuff into it, drive it to my Mum's house in London, decant the stuff and drive the van back. The catch, of course, is that I can't drive, so I'm putting out this appeal for drivers!
I will of course pay all hire and petrol costs in addition to the other things. You need to be over 23 and have held your license for at least a year. Alternatively of course a London-dweller [1] might like to hire a van in London and drive it up here to fetch my stuff in return for similar, but I'm guessing the first suggestion is more likely.
[1] not you,
djm4, stop building that rocket in your back garden cos I happen to know you don't have a free weekend until sometime in 2008 :-)
I don't know exactly which weekend it'll be yet, that partly depends on when the party is, but the weekend of June 14th is pretty likely. Mad road movie style antics strictly optional.

Date: 2003-05-10 09:25 am (UTC)I'm up for it - I've got a futon to move to London as well for a friend, so could probably bung in a contribution for hire/petrol if there's room in the van...

Date: 2003-05-13 06:37 am (UTC)Actually, June 14 is the only weekend between now and BiCon when I've not got anything booked. Looks like you've got plenty of offers, though.
