Sometimes, I just love being rude
Dec. 17th, 2002 06:49 pmI'm sorry, it's a guilty pleasure I know, but I just sent Fritz Klein a snotty email and it fills me with pleasure. He asked "Can you please send me: dates, urls and e-mail contacts" about BiCon 2003 since apparently he "cannot find information on the web" about it.
I replied:
I'm curious to know what measures you tried to find BiCon 2003 before mailing me. I tried every approach I could think of, and every one worked first time. http://www.google.com/ in particular was entirely successful.(For those who don't know: Klein is a painfully self-important American academic who has written some about bisexuality. I'll save the detailed description for another time...)Running BiCon is as you probably know a great deal of work. It would be even more work if we were obliged to find information for our attenders that they could *very* easily find for themselves. Fortunately only a very few people are rude enough to expect this of us.

Date: 2002-12-18 04:26 pm (UTC)At bicon 2000, peter tatchell arrived, collected his room keys, walked over to the sink at reception and did the washing up for us cos we were busy and it needed doing.
Klein demanded having one of the core team take him on a site tour the moment he arrived.
Remind me to shake you warmly by the hand next time I see you ;o)
