I'd always thought it was the former - I'm really bad at picking out lyrics - but the second one makes far, far more sense. I think. In a sort of not-making sense way. Makes less non-sense?

I've always assumed that it was "psycho ranger" - and I'd guess that Das Psychorangers (or however that's punctuated) agreed.
