Mind you it might be a good idea to change the rules slightly if she is going for interviews.
On a practical note it would also be a good idea to make sure the leather isn't too absorbent and that it doesn't shrink in water. I speak from experience as I used to wear a woven black leather bracelet all the time when I was a student (the first time) but it got wet a few too many times and just had to go.
