aye, some of the more recent changes at J (Twitter and Facebook commenting, for example) have been really helpful and I'd like to see them here, but I'm really frustrated with a bunch of changes, especially the way the new comment pages have javascript that causes everything, including the carat, to jump around while stuff loads, I want to hit reply, click in the box and start typing like I did here, not start typing and realise I've lost everything again because the JS has pushed the browser attention somewhere else, etc.
The new management at LJ do seem to realise both what the potential of the site is and what they've potentially lost out on, which is nice. While I'll always prefer DW the point that they specifically don't want to be a massive internet thing with huge numbers of staff means I'll be very very happy if LJ does relaunch itself succesfully and start stealing back users from other places (especially the apparently pointless Ello which doesn't seem to have a USP that LJ doesn't already do better, apart from the no ads thing).
