[27/7/01 10:49: I'm getting breakfast in a greasy spoon on Streatham High Road after dropping off my washing at the launderette, using the Palm to make this entry. I've been way too busy having tons of fun to write any of it up, but others have written such lovely accounts that it seems a shame not to tell some of the stories.]

Friday: Drunkbis. Met up with [livejournal.com profile] adjectivemarcus, [livejournal.com profile] ajva, [livejournal.com profile] babysimon, [livejournal.com profile] jhg, [livejournal.com profile] katyha, and later [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, [livejournal.com profile] goth_christine, [livejournal.com profile] countess_sophia and others. Showed off my outsize rucksack but it turned out to be my pre-rucksack weight which impressed folks. We all went to the roof garden, got rained on and retreated. People discussed their karaoke options for the upcoming hag and sten night; I decided I'd do karaoke the day I find a karaoke machine carrying The Normal's "Warm Leatherette":
A tear of petrol
Is in your eye
The handbrake
Penetrates your thigh
Quick
Let's make love
Before you die
On warm
Leatherette
Warm
Leatherette
Warm

Camgoth Karen turned up just as Lily, [livejournal.com profile] ergotia and I had to leave to catch the train home. Had a fab time playing together that evening; reunions are the best thing about distance relationships.

[27/7/01 11:48: on the platform; my train is arriving. I have a dead motherboard battery in my bag. ]

Saturday: SM Pride. All hope of making the ridiculously early march evaporated; after hours spent dressing up (I take the longest somehow!) we headedtowards the Pervefest. As we fruitlessly searched for a cashpoint, a woman on the street stopped us. "Excuse me?" and I thought "are you a boy or a girl? Do you know it isn't halloween? Why do you make yourselves look like that?"

"Excuse me" she asked, "is this the way to the Pervefest?"

That'll teach me to assume someone's vanilla based on the way they look.

At the Pervefest I met up with many fab people including [livejournal.com profile] adjectivemarcus, [livejournal.com profile] ajva, [livejournal.com profile] babysimon, [livejournal.com profile] jhg, [livejournal.com profile] katyha, [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth, [livejournal.com profile] goth_christine, [livejournal.com profile] countess_sophia, [livejournal.com profile] djm4, [livejournal.com profile] bootpunk, [livejournal.com profile] lizw, Giolla, SC, Camgoth Karen and many others. Many fab outfits were in evidence.

[27/7/01 12:17: rushed onto a Jubilee Line train, change at Waterloo for the Northern Line]

I wasn't really taken with any of the shopping options, but I dip go to one workshop, on cock and ball torture. Most of it was fun, much of it was familiar, but when he started explaining about sounds [livejournal.com profile] babysimon and I got a squick attack; I rushed off to get water...

[27/7/01 13:33: in Aroma on Oxford St, having found free stockings in Ann Summers]

I met a cute corsetted trannie with a smaller waist than me, and gave her one of my personal cards. "Do you ... dabble?" "What?" "You know - the Craft?" "What?"

Then realisation dawned. "No, no - that's my real name..."

[livejournal.com profile] countess_sophia provided champagne and sandwiches, which kept us alive until we left Conway Hall and got to Wagamamma in Camden. Wandering streets and restaurants in a very short minidress, suspenders and thigh high boots is always fun. After which myself, [livejournal.com profile] ergotia, Lily and SC followed [livejournal.com profile] countess_sophia back to her place, where we were later joined by [livejournal.com profile] bootpunk, Camgoth Karen, [livejournal.com profile] ajva and [livejournal.com profile] babysimon and played in many delightful combinations until the early hours of the morning.
