I'm on the first leg of the long train journey from Whitby back to London town. My suitcase is bursting at the seams (and one wheel is dying - finally time to chuck it, I fear) and I'm keeping myself alive with an apple and some bread 'till I can get a proper sandwich on the GNER southbound train. [livejournal.com profile] spikeylady is writing her diary (and telling me off for reading over her shoulder while she's trying to write - I moved away) and [livejournal.com profile] bootpunk is reading the Grauniad.

Later: I am now on the train to London. The entire network around York is fucked due to a downed power line at Northhallerton. The train we've been put on is full to bursting: we are standing with our bags in between carriages with some even more unfortunate goths who got on a bus from Whitby at 1030 and waited at York for three hours. Bah!

I had a damn fine Whitby. In random order:

I got to play with the lovely [livejournal.com profile] jezebel_z! She was fine and fun and again soon please! My thanks to her and to my ever-wonderful co-top [livejournal.com profile] spikeylady.

My insanely impractical head-to-toe corset dress was *very* well received on Saturday night, and I got my picture taken lots - I'll make sure and link to some pictures of it soon. Sadly it became almost impossible to wear before the evening was out, and a situation arose such that I needed to be more mobile, so I changed out of it after only a couple of hours.

I was very pleased to see so much of [livejournal.com profile] bootpunk, [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth and [livejournal.com profile] julietk this weekend. Odd that I went to Yorkshire to spend time with my London friends, but there you are. I was also happy to see lots of Jenny Garside and her friend Tori, both looking marvellous as always.

Self catering is so the way to go - I'd now much rather be in a cottage as remote as ours was than in a room in the Avalon, even if the latter was the same price.

I am incredibly lucky to have three such fab partners. *mush*

maybe more later...

There seem to be a number of bad tags in there.

Was great to see so much of you guys, too. Must catch up again soon!

You're right about self-catering - it was damn handy being in the cottage last time (especially given how I am about food, though I am collecting a mental list of Juliet-friendly eating establishments. I think I'd have fared worse with lunch etc if the weather hadn't been nice enough that we went for picnics on both Friday & Sunday). On the other hand, there are also advantages to being in the Avalon, especially when you can't get a damn taxi for half an hr! And it might have been a nuisance had we had to wait in for the delivery of the Finest Wines Known to Humanity :-)

Erk, reading about that outfit has made sitting at my desk ... uncomfortable. Or something. Something pleasant. (Actually you hit the one thing on my interests lists I was not expecting to have satisfied any time this year.) Lemme know when the pictures are posted.
