Updatey thing
Jan. 5th, 2005 07:30 pmI started writing an update on a geeky topic, but shame forces me to make at least a token effort at writing on non-geeky subjects from time to time and, you know, actually writing about my life. Randomly then:
webcowgirl and
shadowdaddy are coming over to dinner tonight, rar! I wish I felt more well, though - I don't feel in top form just now and I'm worried that I have the lurgi that has kept other members of staff home recently. And I have earache. Bah.
New Year's was fantastic. The party started at 6pm on the 31st and ran continuously until the morning of the 2nd. Thanks to all who came - I shan't try and namecheck you all, but I suspect that my brother Tom was the only non-LJer in attendance. We'll do that again, I think, and next time I'll make the effort to announce it here rather than relying on
spikeylady to make it known. Thanks to my party co-hosts
ergotia,
spikeylady, and
lilithmagna.
I had the Christmassiest Christmas ever chez Barker - we watched Patrick Stewart's Scrooge and even had snow on Christmas morning. Many thanks for lovely hospitality and scarf and robot toy and book and good food and drink and company and niceness. I am still quite allergic to cats it seems however, making the way they would congregate to pounce on me quite disconcerting.
I have made no New Year's Resolutions. But the eternal struggle to get exercise from time to time continues. The current plan is for us all to go swimming tomorrow evening. I wonder where my non-foolish-looking trunks are? Also I need to do my taxes - must hassle the bank.
I am busy with some geeky things that I'm not allowing myself to talk about in this entry. Some are going well and others aren't.
I hope LJ doesn't get bought.
Bleeeeaaaargh.
Will that do?
