Review may follow, but if you're just tracking your LJ rules/sucksometer, Minority Report rocked. The Spielberg schmaltz was nothing like as bad as I'd been led to fear (mercifully brief and not too thick), the future was beautifully imagined (really good tech, I want to know who did it), the plot was very well done, the imagery was occasonally a little heavy-handed but I only cringed once, fine acting all around, excellent costumes, special effects and suchlike. And hopefully it'll do something to make ID cards less popular too. Let's have more big-screen dystopias please!

I was to leave for Berlin on Wednesday, but it turns out that the Love Parade is on in Berlin this weekend, which means that we can't get flights or hotels. Darn! If I'd sorted things out a bit earlier I could have gone (though I hear it's gone a bit crap actually...)

But anyway, it looks like I'll be leaving for Berlin on the 17th and returning on the 21st.

OK, I've used DAR long enough to know that it's fundamentally broken. I just gave up on it at the point where I'd written CD 1 of a two CD archive, and said "please test the integrity of this slice of the archive". It responded "last slice is not present, please provide before integrity can be tested".

So I'm not using that any more.

What the hell can I use that does proper multi-archive backups for CDs?
