Hi-tech job market

A CV posted to Sluts gets me worried. People with computer skills no longer waltz into high-paying jobs. Even mangros can't get a job. Things are definitely not as easy for computer people as they used to be.

These are off the top of my head. I'll think of answers for the missing three sections later.

• I fear: madness, spiritual death, 1984esque dystopia, global warming, the eternal triumph of capitalism, losing my friends and partners, losing my looks
  
• I don't understand: religion, monogamy, general relativity, Zope, the appeal of normality, food, how my life got to be so good
  
• I have on my desk: a map of Berlin, an electric razor, the Gother than Thou card game, dirty clothes that need handwashing, nail clippers, a lightbulb of uncertain status, a CD of Internet pornography I got as a Christmas present
