LJ musings

It's occurred to me that the <lj-cut> tag is open to abuse.

Not nice. I'm trying to avoid triggering the filtering software at the moment.

Still, I'll check the links more carefully in future...

[identity profile] ciphergoth.livejournal.com 2002-04-15 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
I hadn't thought of that. I've changed it to my personal website, which shouldn't trigger any filters I don't think.

Nah, that's blocked on grounds of 'Non-Traditional Religions'.

It's a fussy program.

[identity profile] ciphergoth.livejournal.com 2002-04-15 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, god, of course. *sigh*

If you really don't want to trigger it, you might have to resort to running your own proxy that pre-filters for you before passing on to the main proxy...

Oh it doesn't really bother me. I figure if I set it off 100 times in a day I might be in trouble otherwise they're prolly too busy to pay attention. I just try to avoid clicking on links i *know* will set it off.

Indeed : done it already ! ;o)

Mmmmm. I'm not sure how much that qualifies as abuse. It's a slight surprise, but it's no Code Red.

ciphergoth, I think you're being paranoid.

[identity profile] ciphergoth.livejournal.com 2002-04-15 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
I agree it's not a big deal.

Remember that I get the e-mail updates, so I read the HTML before I see the rendered markup...

[identity profile] elfgeek.livejournal.com 2002-04-15 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
You lucky bitch! I wish I was in Alaska this summer, then I could visit my friend Maty... What exactly will you be doing there??

*broad grin* i am indeed a very lucky bitch. my aunt and her family went on a cruise around Helsinki and St Petersburg and various places last summer, and they enjoyed it so much, they booked for this summer's cruise before they left. then the company told her, you can either take a child for half price, or an adult for full price and the child for free. so she asked me if i wanted to come *grins*
we're gonna be doing snow stuff; personally i'm rather intrigued about dog sledding *g* and they say there are many, many beautiful sights. starting off at Vancouver, Canada, and taking two weeks to wander around on a ship... could be fun :)

very lucky bitch ;)

You know since I noticed that link this morning I've had
a strange compulsion to visit bicon2002.

Strange..

ObTopicness - I wonder if LJ is vulnerable to CSS attacks?
I'll have a play tommorow.

Well, no... that's not the lj-cut tag, so you're not abusing it, any more than the old trick of linking to www.paypa1.com was an abuse of paypal. It's just a social engineering trick that happens to mimic a known entity.
