I think it's a similar sentiment that is stopping me take part, although I do sympathise with why others are doing it - there is a serious point being made.
I should say, by "the linked article", I mean Greta Christina's Why I'm Drawing Mohammed, which is linked to above. If you think this is a mistake, I'm interested in reading why, but she does explain that there's a reason for doing it that isn't "it annoys people"; if you've any commentary on what she wrote, that could advance this discussion.
