Mine is below ... it's a negative of Mohammad, dressed as a Ninja, down a coal mine at midnight, when the power fails ...

I have to say, that while I don't believe in Islam, nor many of it's beliefs, just because we have the freedom to annoy people doesn't mean we should.

Who are you?
I like you :)

(I like [livejournal.com profile] ciphergoth as well)

I think it's a similar sentiment that is stopping me take part, although I do sympathise with why others are doing it - there is a serious point being made.

The linked article explains the reasons in more detail...

I should say, by "the linked article", I mean Greta Christina's Why I'm Drawing Mohammed, which is linked to above. If you think this is a mistake, I'm interested in reading why, but she does explain that there's a reason for doing it that isn't "it annoys people"; if you've any commentary on what she wrote, that could advance this discussion.

If we didn't, as a culture, go around pointing out the silliness of other peoples dogmas we probably would still be stuck in the pre-enlightenment.

If you like you should read up on the historical influence of the protestant's movements cultural shifts that lead to a, general, greater questioning.

So yes, this is annoying to dogmatic Muslims. Tough.
