LoudTwitter?

I have a Twitter feed, and much of what I post there doesn't get posted here. I tend to assume that there's no point to things like LoudTwitter, because those who like Twitter-style communication will subscribe directly, but I'm willing to be corrected!

honestly? i'm starting to hate twitter. it's probably neat functionality aside, it turned journals of nice people who wrote meaningful and interesting entries into a boring string of meaningless short-sentence posts from twitter. bah!

Agreed absolutely - fortunately you can actually post twitter to a customs friends group so people can opt not to see it - if you have a paid account

I'm on the verge fo defriending a few people who simply refuse to either LJ Cut or custom friends group LoudTwitter - they post up to 50 twits a day and all I get is meaningless utterly trite shit on 10 posts in a row around midnight

I did find a thingy that at least cut the twits, if not the entire post, but I can't remember where, now, sadly. But it does exist - it's a tweak to the stylesheet on LJ.

I believe they are called 'tweets' but 'twits' seems much more apt!

yes. THIS. I find that I just scroll right past the twitterings. Because I couldn't care less. The short-sentence posts out of context are just noise.

*nods* For me, the main reason to use Twitter is so that my LJ posts will be longer and more interesting because my blabbering and one-liners will be relegated to Twitter!

Please please please don't use LoudTwitter to post into your main journal. If you can set up an RSS or something that's fine, as long as I can ignore it. I am strongly in favour of keeping the two separate :)

RSS feed yes!

I'd like to vote for a fifth option: I don't really understand what Twitter is or does.

I don't care - mostly because I can't access Twitter at work, and therefoer feel grouchy whenever I see references to Twitter anywhere :->

You don't have a mobile phone?

I'm going to say yes. I often forget to read twitter, because I don't like it that much, but your posts often contain interesting links and it's a shame to miss them. It would also be good to be able to respond directly in comments!

I have twitter but haven't really got to grips with it, I'm a wee bit too verbose still! ;) x

Any chance of a example of the kind of stuff we're missing?

You really need a tickbox for "Sorry, I lost track of the differences between all these various communications thingies several years ago..." :-)

If LoudTwitter makes one post daily, I quite like it. If it's more than that, meh. I understand it's a bit in flux.
