lovelybug just handed me "Private Eye" and said "you must read this column". The column is called "How Extremism Works". That article isn't online, but it's been written up elsewhere.

Hopefully a day will come when enough people are online that "someone anonymous said something mean in an Internet forum somewhere" stops being a story you can run.
