January 27th: LiveJournal Rabbit Hole day

January 27, 2005 is
LiveJournal Rabbit-Hole Day
"Let's have a day where nobody's life makes sense anymore, where any random LJ you click on will bring you some strange new tale. Let's all fall down the Rabbit Hole for 24 hours and see what's there. It will be beautiful."

Where did you get the HTML? Want to spread the word...

I cut-and-pasted it directly from [livejournal.com profile] mskala's journal (with minor edits). Try this:

<lj-raw><center><table style="width: 400px; background: white; color: black;font-family: sans-serif; border: 1px solid black"><tr><td style="width:100%; text-align: center;"><span style="font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold;font-style: italic;">January 27, 2005 is</span><br /><span style="font-size:18pt; color: #cc6633; font-weight: bold;">LiveJournal Rabbit-Hole Day</span>
<hr /><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-style: italic;">"Let's have a day
where nobody's life makes sense anymore, where any random LJ you click on will bring
you some strange new tale. Let's all fall down the Rabbit Hole for 24 hours
and see what's there. It will be beautiful."</span><hr /><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><a href="http://www.livejournal.com/users/crisper/26562.html">
More information</a></span></td></tr></table></center></lj-raw>

Thanks! Word duly spread.

That appears to use the default text colour for the middle section - leaving it white on white for my style. I added 'font-color: black;' to the span before the explanatory text so it became readable...

Only without the 'font-' bit. *sigh*

Good NYE, long recovery period :)

Oh, same for the span with the date in it, I just noticed.

The 27th is our next date, isn't it? I wonder if we can do something random and nonsensical...

It is indeed - excellent plan!

Bog off. It's our first day back at work and nothing makes sense anyway without people aggravating it! Did I mention the heating has broken in our office already (which NB I have been in since 0730) and I am typing with numb fingers? Where were you at new year? ARe those MY feet?

Let's have a day where nobody's life makes sense

Which would differ from most other days how, precisely?

[identity profile] arkady.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 12:51 pm (UTC)(link)
That's what I was wondering....

[identity profile] purplerabbits.livejournal.com 2005-01-04 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course this means you have to actually post something substantial, which in your case may be an insurmountable obstacle.

And from the original post it seems we are to make things up rather than do weird things. Which did you have in mind?

Hah!

*I* shall post the first chapter of the second draft of "House of Fragments"

Sounds like a good idea, I shall try to have as surreal a day as possible on the 27th, let's se how it goes.
