Leaving convergence and other stuff
Big news: by mutual consent, I'm leaving my current job on Monday, June 30th, on good terms and with full salary paid up to that date, resolving various difficulties I don't want to go in to here. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. Must brush up CV and start looking for a London job.

I emailed to
bootpunk and
kitty_goth a while back about keys and storage lockers, but didn't hear back, so I decided it was easier to just sort out my own. I've reserved a locker near
bootpunk's but somewhat larger, and arranged for a "man with van" type firm to turn up 10am Monday morning to pick up lots of
bootpunk's stuff and put it there; I'll put a combination lock on the locker and email the combination to them both, so that they can also store stuff there if they need to. Then I'll have enough space for my own stuff, much needed.

The floor of my room is 1.7m wide.
kitty_goth's double bed is only 1.4m wide; IKEA's cheapest double bed (DALSERV) comes in 1.4m x 2m and 1.6m x 2m options. I see a bed purchase in my future. Must go to IKEA soon and investigate what the DALSERV bed is like for bondage. Update: it seems I shouldn't buy beds from IKEA. Where would you recommend?

I've resolved to try and update this more. I have had a productive day today: shopping in Sainsburys, tidying and washing up, sorting out how Laputa's mail is going to work, and other goodness. Must now shave and do more tidying and unpacking. Dinner with
ergotia and
lilithmagna tonight, then off to Smithy's, see some of you there!

And exactly how do you plan to ascertain that, pray? I hope you have a willing volunteer.
Good news from Convergence, on the whole. I can understand the relief - it's well time you get shot of them.

IKEA's catalogue lies about the beds. What they claim is a wide mattress is actually two single mattresses next to each other, i.e. complete shit. Learn from my mistake.

If you want a bed that will last 20 years, I would recommend alphabeds on TCR - we've got one of theirs and it is lovely.
They make to order, which means you can get it any size/shape you want and matresses at whatever level of firmness you want. And toy^Wstorage drawers for under the bed too.
I know I sound like a sales pitch, but they are lovely people and a small independant company too.

That's a bit of a basic method of secure key transmission for you isn't it?
