Time machine story
Clearing out my stuff a couple of days ago, I found a small Bonnie Langford doll that I won many years ago in an SF society "50 word epic" contest. My guilty secret, however, is that I stole the story idea from Rudy Rucker's "The Fourth Dimension and How to Get There". Anyway, it amused
spikeylady so I thought I'd share it with you all. (updated slightly to make it clearer)

A miniature time machine appeared in the middle of the room and fell on my desk. I examined it for a minute or so; it had a dial in seconds, and a red button. To test it, I set the dial to sixty seconds, and pressed the button. It disappeared.

Might have been somebody round about here.
I'm sorry if I upset you as you seem to be quite pleased with your trick there.

To clarify - by "sounds about right", I meant that my contribution probably was duller than something eminently forgettable. :)
