Big, big changes ahoy

Action points:

• I'm going to need a job in London starting July 1. My CV - needs updated but not too bad.
• I'm going to need somewhere to live in London around a similar time. I'd rather share a flat, anyone else looking around that time?

Several recent events conspire to point my life in a new direction.

• I'm more in love with London life than ever.
• It's become clear that my current work situation isn't sustainable, and we've agreed to call it off; I can't get work done in a situation where I never set eyes on my colleagues and they don't even speak the same language as me. Likely finish date June 30.
• It looks like it's going to be hard to keep Mir going for the long term, especially since paying rent in two cities is killing me.
• bootpunk is likely moving back to the UK in the near future - he will want to move into the room in London I'm currently staying in.
• The biggest change: after eleven wonderful years, purplerabbits and I have agreed that our relationship is no longer a "going-out" one, though we're still very close in our own way and people shouldn't be surprised to see us acting as couple-y as ever when we're together.

All of this means that I will be moving permanently to London in the near future. We'll be selling Mir around the end of August; I have to sell lots of things I own in Edinburgh (eg a drumkit), and get the rest to London somehow - a real removals firm is probably the only way to do it. I have to sort out a job and a place to live in London.

I'm pretty sure all this is ultimately for the best, and leads to the future I want to be in. All the same I'm more than somewhat stressed about such big changes in such a short time frame!

I'm not sure if it is your thing as there is very little crypto involved but my company are hiring? They pay well and are very relaxed but the work is often fairly dull.

AAAHH Panick! ;) Seriously, I hope all goes well for you and your entourage. Seems like it is better to make a big change all at once tahn to go little by little. I am good at that, anyway (moving). As noted, I am not 100% certain I'll be back over (will be within a week or two), but more importantly I may well spend a month or three in Edinburgh, as it'll be rent free (staying with Mater & Pater). I don't want you to be in limbo on that front, but you may not have to move out of the church quite as quickly as you think.

From experience - don't worry about the big picture. Just try to deal with whatever small particular's in front of you at any time. The little victories accumulate, and you end up getting through the whole mess without quite knowing how you did it!

Goodness, it sounds like all the stress has come at once! Take care dear, and if you need a third city, a friendly ear, or just to escape for a few days and get your head together, then you know where I am.

Oh, and if you're looking to ease the burden of that Edinburgh rent then I'm sure I know of a couple of theatrically inclined goths who's rent from you for a short while during the Edinburgh Festival :)
