Calling on Tuesday

[livejournal.com profile] ergotia points out that there's a Calling in Cambridge on Feb 4, and that thanks to her gardening leave we could both go! Would anyone be able to put both of us up on Tuesday night?

ps: shatner's bassoon.

UULP: I completely agree with JWZ re themes

there should be no problem with us putting you up! Obviously I have to check this with [livejournal.com profile] zotz and The Gnome, but as far as I'm concerned it's OK. It would be wonderful to see you! I love you!

Hurrah! Sounds cool, we'll see you then! Love you too xxx...

[livejournal.com profile] wechsler, who is too drunk to type atm, says that you are also welcome to stay at his flat - he has a bed and space in his living room (I just almost typed 'loving room'!) for an airbed (which he also has, and sleeping bags etc also).

Y'know, that's the second time I've ever I've seen reference to "gardening leave", the first being this morning when I saw "garden leave" mentioned in the contract I was signing, and the phrase intrigued me at the time.

Er... what does it mean?

Garden leave is a statement in your work contract asserting that your employer is not obliged to provide you with work to carry out, even though you still get your pay and benefits. I.e. you're sent home for a while. It's quite common during your final notice period after being made redundant.

I think Lili might want to come too, would that be a problem? Thanks for the offers - I thought Cambridge goths were the unfriendliest in the country? :)

oh, we are. we only want you to come so we can coldshoulder you all night, and then spit on you in your sleep!

Poor guy. Doomed to run Linux by his emacs brain damage.

There's usually spare beds at ours, and you're welcome to them.

*coughs discreetly*

I'll tidy my room then? Assuming it is still considered my room?
Has it been offered to anyone for tonight or am i allowed to sleep in it?
