• I have cleaned the grill pan! Virtue is me.
• Apparently I'm going to be in London at exactly the times spikeylady isn't there. Arse!
• I received text messages independently from both ergotia and lilithmagna informing me that Johnny Cash has done a cover of the NIN song "Hurt".
• I now understand Rabin-Williams. Briefly, if p = 3 mod 8 and q = 7 mod 8, then the Legendre symbol (2/p) = -1 but (2/q) = 1, so if x is a quadratic residue mod q but not p, then 2p will be a quadratic residue modulo both. Of course if x isn't a QR mod q then -x will be. Simple, eh? Thanks for the many helpful suggestions.

Oops! Actually I have not heard the "Personal Jesus" cover, but I have a dim memory of Paul telling me that Nick Cave, or maybe even Trent himself, did a cover of "Wanted Man", one of Johnny's bouncier numbers - anyway, I thought at the time must stick my tongue out and go "Nyaahh" at Katy :)

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds definitely covered "Wanted Man".
I have it, but can't remember which album it was on. I'd look it out but I need to run for a bus to Edinburgh now. See you at Finsternis tonight Paul.
