Minority Report rocked

Review may follow, but if you're just tracking your LJ rules/sucksometer, Minority Report rocked. The Spielberg schmaltz was nothing like as bad as I'd been led to fear (mercifully brief and not too thick), the future was beautifully imagined (really good tech, I want to know who did it), the plot was very well done, the imagery was occasonally a little heavy-handed but I only cringed once, fine acting all around, excellent costumes, special effects and suchlike. And hopefully it'll do something to make ID cards less popular too. Let's have more big-screen dystopias please!

Raaa! I saw the shorts for that and thought it looked like it had potential. The only thing that put me off was Tom Cruise, who can be very good when he's good, but very bad when he's bad, and his default mode of acting seems to be the latter...

I might actually make an effort to go see it now.

my count so far: five 'it rocked's and zero 'it sucked's. so, i think i should see this one. only i'm convinced i want to see it with someone else (i asked my bro to spoil it a bit for me, and, yeah, that bit was enough of a gross-out to want company), so i'm kinda stuck at the moment. i'll probably wind up seeing it on video around christmas time, or something :-)
