Disconnected

Telewest Blue Yonder have fucked up again, and we're offline; I'm dialling out with a modem to post this. The horror!

*grins* i would say something about now you see how the other half lives - except that my aunt's house has broadband *snickers*
and can i ask - why do you stay with Telewest if they see to keep giving you such grief? are they still better than anyone else, or something?

The only alternative is ADSL, which I haven't really looked into - it didn't seem to be much of an option when we first signed up for this in late 2000.

Also, I did use a modem for over eight years before signing up to this, I'm just not used to it any more...

Broadband withdrawal *twitch*

I'm a bit worried about this, as I rather confidently cancelled my BTOpenWound dialup account as soon as I'd got my ADSL gateway working reliably (about three hours after the line went live). Well, I do run www.BTsuck.org (http://www.BTsuck.org/) (among other websites) so I had to get away from them really...

So far Pipex have been solidly reliable, but I'm not so innocent as to think this will always be the case... and I do get this terribly twitchy feeling when I lose connectivity!

I suppose if all else fails, my work is only 10 minutes drive away, with a 2MB line from BT and a 512KB from NTL, so hopefully at least one of those should be working... and I have a 24 hour access swipe card, being a web-developer and not keeping quite the same hours as most of the office staff :)
