A History of Violence

A History of Violence is excellent. The idyllic start is slightly overdone, but the buildup of tension is very good, and the violence is absolutely top quality. Recommended.

Yes. Fantastically done. You could watch the whole of Kill Bill and not see anything as graphic and real and bloody as a two second shot here. The sex scenes were extremely well done as well, I thought, and very hot. It's good to see Viggo doing something that really stretches him. No pun intended.

Sex scenes - I concur. First time I've ever seen a 69 in a mainstream film. And the bit on the stairs *fans self*

Yes, and wasn't it so...sweet? The way he lifted her skirt a little and said 'Ooooh'. They were great together.

And the stairs...my insides did a little involuntary spasm, much to my embarassment. I recommend We Don't Live Here Anymore which has a similar style, to me, anyway. The film itself is a little slow, but there's one sex scene up against a wall that still has my pupils expanding when I think about it months later.

Going to see this film tonight. I'm a huge D.Cronenberg fan (especially 'Crash' and 'Existenz'), looking forward to this film a lot.
